Angel Fire Bike Park



Race begins with a mass start at the top of the lift at 9:00 a.m. The course closes at 8:45pm sharp, and all riders on the mountain at that time will be allowed to score their final lap. If two riders are on similar total laps, the first to cross the finish on their final lap will be the winner. All riders must use bike lights beginning at dusk—race director will make this announcement to all riders at Registration at the Ticket Office from 6pm-9pm. Complete all waivers, pick-up number plates and enjoy Red Bull hospitality

Registration: Friday, Oct 14th from 6pm to 9pm at the Angel Fire Resort Ticket Office

Rider’s Meeting MANDATORY: Saturday, October 15th at 7a.m. on the Ticket Office Deck.

Lift Schedule: Lift will run Friday – Sunday 9am-5pm for general public.  Saturday’s 9am-9pm will be for competitors.

Awards: On the Ticket Office Deck.

Afterparty: Immediately following event end at Legends Grill (located on the 2nd floor of The Lodge).

Tracks: Several of Angel Fire’s top bike park DH trails will be utilized simultaneously for the event. All trails have new features for 2011 and will finish at the Chile Express chairlift for uphill access back to the start of the courses. The event start will be a mass start at the top of the lift.

Track #1: This is one of Angel Fire’s new DH tracks called Chillin’. This trail has lots of steep loam, great flow, and all the flowy tech you gravity riders have come to expect from Angel Fire! This will be the track that the Collegiate Nationals will utilize for the race and you get to break it in.

Track #2: Chillin and flowin is the name of the game for this track. This track will utilize different flow trails that have been either added or improved at Angel Fire Bike Park. Wooden bridges, jumps, awesome flowy single-track, what more could you ask for. Hop on for 12 hrs and see how many flow-track laps you can do.

So about those lights… Riding after dark will require the use of approved front mounted bike lights! Sports Systems and Night Rider will be supplying rental lights. Please email mike.taylor@us.redbull.com if you would be interested in renting lights. Lights systems will also be available for sale from Sport Systems at a discounted rate. All riders will be required to run lights for the last 2-3 hours of the event, so please be prepared. Tech support will be available at the base area adjacent to the chairlift, although riders are responsible for their own repair and equipment replacement.

Classes / Prizes: With a $5000 cash purse to top finishers at each event in all categories, plus prizes from our industry sponsors, a $500 cash purse goes to the series top pro male and female rider who completes the most laps in a combined total from both events. All other class series top finishers will receive a $120 cash prize.

Camping: We will have camping available in the resort parking lots for $15 a night per spot. Camping permits are available for purchase at the Ticket Office and the front desk of the Lodge.

Lodging: A special rate of $89 per room, per night is available in the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort. If you book online, a two night minimum stay is required.
